Kara is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 8 years of experience in the mental health profession. Kara owned a successful private practice in Dubuque, IA for over 5 years. She received her Master’s from University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 2014. Since graduation, she has been working as a mental health counselor. As a therapist, she employs a holistic, all inclusive, empathetic style to therapy.

It is in Kara’s professional interest to provide the most effective therapy to her clients by integrating a use of therapy techniques to include Cognitive-Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, Strength-based, Mindfulness, and incorporating empirically supported practices.

Kara’s clinical skills are applicable to individuals of most ages (16+) including couples, adolescents, and adults. She works with individuals with anxiety, depression/mood disorders, trauma and abuse history, life changes and adjustment issues, grief and loss, interpersonal conflicts, and has a special interest in couples counseling.

Kara prides herself in being clinically minded and emotionally grounded. Collaboratively, you will begin a journey towards understanding, growth, and personal discovery. Kara would be honored to participate on this journey with you.

Kara is currently participating in a certification program through Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Gabby Hartman, LMFT

Gabby is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She has been providing therapy services in an outpatient setting for over six years. As a therapist, she utilizes a systemic and collaborative approach to therapy.

Gabby provides therapy to children, adolescents, and their families. Her experience and training includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Adlerian Play Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Structural Family Therapy. She has completed additional training in Youth Mental Health First Aid and Trauma-Informed Care. Gabby particularly enjoys working with parents who may be experiencing obstacles related to children’s mental and behavioral health, and uses an approach of instilling hope while repairing and rebuilding relationships. She also has a special interest in incorporating faith-based approaches when relevant.

Gabby is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.

Abigail Williams, LISW

Abby is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 6 years of experience in the mental health field. She has experience working in the outpatient counseling, community mental health, and school settings. Abby uses a collaborative approach in which you remain the expert of your own life and she is there to guide you through the process of healing.Abby utilizes several approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy(DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) to name a few. As a trauma informed care therapist she specializes in trauma, as well as depression and anxiety. 

Abby also takes interest in the connection between physical health and mental health and is a certified personal trainer. 

Collaboratively, you will identify your concerns and goals and Abby will guide you, in a safe and supportive way, through the change process.
